Out of Touch

I just found out that one of my dearest friends from college is moving to Israel to go to medical school in Tel Aviv. Wonderful news, mazel tov and all that, but apparently he's leaving like any day now. How have I managed to get so out of touch with my friends in San Diego? I apparently still haven't figured out a good balance between having a life up here, and not abandoning the one I had down there. I guess the best I can do is grin and bear it, and hope my friends have a backup supply of patience and forgiveness. I'm trying to make it down for a few days in July, so hopefully that'll improve matters.
